Sunnyvale is home to Yahoo, Lockheed Martin, Palm, Inc., Juniper Networks, AMD, NetApp, Spansion, Simco Electronics, Mirapoint, AppliedMicro, Maxim Integrated Products, Ariba and many more who help to make the city what it is today.

Sunnyvale is one of the few U.S. cities to have a single unified Department of Public Safety, where all personnel are trained as firefighters, police officers, and EMTs, so they can respond to an emergency in any of the three roles.

Sunnyvale is home to an impressive variety of local shopping and dining options boasting 49 separate neighborhood and regional shopping centers. Picturesque downtown Sunnyvale, including historic Murphy Avenue, was recently completely remodeled and is now the envy of the South Bay.
