Sunnyvale Silicon Valley Festivals

Featured Story
Annual Events in Sunnyvale
Sunnyvale, California is a city which provides entertaining events for residents and visitors all year long, including five annual activities that are highly anticipated by both. These include the Sunnyvale Farmer’s Market, the exciting Sunnyvale Art and Wine Festival, the creative Sunnyvale Summer Series Music & Market, the amusing Sunnyvale Howl’oween Pet Parade and Faire, and the traditional Sunnyvale Holiday and Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration. These attractions all offer options that can be compelling entertainment for the every member of the family.

The Sunnyvale Farmer’s Market is open each Saturday of the year from nine o’clock in the morning until one in the afternoon to provide a wide assortment of locally produced fruits and vegetables, including many organic varieties. Patrons of the market also rave about the selection of hand-made arts and crafts available for purchase and love perusing the various vendors for unique gift items. A visit to the Sunnyvale Farmer’s Market is a great way to start the weekend for those who love food and fun.

During the month of June, the local chamber of commerce sponsors the Sunnyvale Art and Wine Festival, a favorite of tourists. Highlighting wines and beers made by small local breweries, this festival gives adults the opportunity to sample drinks that are only produced in this region. The activities take place in downtown Sunnyvale, and entrance is free to all. A special children’s area is included each year to provide summer fun for the little ones as well. Past features of the festival have included a classic car show, an exhibit about space exploration, and live music.

The Sunnyvale Summer Series Music & Market also begins in June and continues through the first week of August. Featuring many local musicians, this event provides music for all generations and preferences, including rhythm and blues, rock, country, funk, and old school. Guests may sing along, dance, or just enjoy wandering through the crafts and artwork of local artisans.

When fall arrives in this lovely city, residents begin anticipating the annual Sunnyvale Howl’oween Pet Parade and Faire. This event occurs on October 30 and offers the children an opportunity to show off their pet’s outrageous attire, as well as their own creative costumes. Prizes are awarded in several categories, and those who attend all leave with a smile on their faces.

Each December, the Sunnyvale Holiday and Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration takes place and is always a memorable event. This beautiful ceremony is led by the mayor and includes the arrival of Santa. It is usually held during the first week of December and is the perfect way to herald a joyful holiday season and enjoy the wonderful Christmas décor which gives the city a fascinating new face.

Clearly, Sunnyvale residents are blessed to have such wonderful opportunities available, but the city is thrilled to share these events with guests. Why not plan a visit during one of these events and discover just how welcoming and entertaining the city can be to those willing to visit?
