Every August, thousands of music fans from across the region and the nation converge on San Jose to enjoy 3 days of music and fun. The San Jose Mercury News calls the Festival, “One of the top jazz festivals in the nation.” The Oakland Tribune calls it a “World class-event.” The people of the region voted it “Best Festival of Silicon Valley” in 2006, 2007, and 2008. After 20 years, the AT&T San Jose Jazz Festival has become the largest, most endearing summer cultural event in Silicon Valley having grown from 56,000 to over 100,000 attendees in the last 3 years.
The Festival remains very accessible. It is one the most diverse jazz festivals in the U.S. It includes over 100 concerts on 9 stages in 3 days and explores and celebrates the musical and cultural heartbeat of the region’s rapidly growing and richly diverse community. Modest admission prices ($15/day) ensure that everyone who wants to attend can attend. The Festival's repertoire includes not only traditional jazz, but salsa, Latin jazz, Straight Ahead, Blues, Swing, R&B, Hip Hop, Smooth, Fusion, and more. It features local musicians, including youth, and regional, national, and international artists as well as legendary performers. The Festival provides myriad venues and events that immerse attendees in a unique musical and cultural environment. |
