If you’re trying to get pregnant, you know how often you reach for one of those urine tests. If you’re a planner, you probably know exactly when you can start taking tests at the absolute earliest. The problem, though, is that you might start taking tests to early. Over a couple of months, they can get pretty expensive! They cost, after all, at least ten bucks for a package of just two tests! It’s not like you can re-use them or anything, so you’re going to spend at least ten, fifteen, twenty dollars a month just for pregnancy tests. Luckily, Medline makes it easy to get cheaper pregnancy tests that still work.

Basically, you can buy your tests in bulk – split them with a friend, if you want. They’ll stay good for a couple of years as long as you keep them in a dry place. When you buy just the generic test strips and cassettes in bulk, you can end up paying about a dollar a test. With that price, you can afford to test every day from week three to week five until you get a positive test!

Don’t be fooled, either, by all the tests that say they’re so much better than other brands. All pregnancy tests look for the exact same thing – hCG – a hormone that your body produces upon conception. While there is a little bit of difference in the amount of hCG needed for a positive test, most tests are about the same. The testing technology has come so far that trusted Medline tests are going to pick up very low levels of hCG, just like name brand tests will.

The main difference with these tests is that they’re more old-fashioned. Unlike the newer medical products in the pregnancy department, you can’t just pee on them mid-stream and be done with it. You actually have to get out a cup and dip the test in it, and you will probably get a less obvious control and test line. You don’t really need a digital test to tell you if you’re pregnant or not, though, so don’t worry about that! You’ll definitely be able to tell if the test is positive, so these Medline tests work just as well as the newer tests, only they cost less than a quarter of the price.
