In the doghouse for Valentine’s Day this year

Parents seeking a sitter for Valentine’s Day may want to consider sending kids ages 8 to 12 to the Humane Society for the night.

Children will have a chance to train, and cuddle, shelter dogs and cats while parents catch dinner and a movie.

The Valentine’s date night special, which includes a flashlight scavenger hunt, takes place Feb. 14, 7-10 p.m., at the Humane Society Silicon Valley, 901 Ames Ave. in Milpitas.
