You have decided that you want to invest in precious metals. While there are mining stocks and mutual funds that can put you on the path to investing, it's recommended that you start small, by purchasing bullion in the form of bars and coins. While purchasing bars can lead to many rewards, it's also important to realize that bars are harder than coins to sell. The buyer has to validate that the weight and purity on the bar are correct, and that could take some time. Selling coins is much easier, and the whole point of buying them in the first place it is to sell them. If you want to buy these coins safely, you'll need to start by finding a good coin dealer.

Silver - Silver Bullion Bars - Buy Silver Bars - Buying Silver BarsFinding a coin dealer is easy in this day and age, because we have the Internet. With the Internet, you can find a trustworthy and honest dealer. One of the best places to start online is the Professional Numismatists Guild (PNG) website. The PNG is a coin dealer organization that many coin professionals join, and the PNG doesn't just accept everyone who applies. On the PNG website, there is a directory that will list PNG certified coin dealers. You can count on a PNG certified dealer to give you some of the best service in the business.

Another good place to search for coin dealers is the American Numismatic Association (ANA). The ANA's website also has a directory where you can find ANA certified coin dealers. While they do have a code of ethics, the ANG is not nearly as strict as the PNG. However, you are likely to find an ANG certified dealer in your town, making it easy for you to get your coin collection started.

Moreover, you can find coin dealers at coin shows. You can probably find coin shows in your area by using your favorite search engine. If there doesn't seem to be a show coming up but there is a coin club in your area, contact them and ask about the best certified coin dealers that they can offer for you.

If there isn't a coin dealer in your town, look for one online. There are plenty of websites that sell bullion to the public. If you want to find out more information about any of these websites, you can search for customer ratings and reviews on the Internet.
