The City of Sunnyvale has been a supporter of the California Theatre Center (CTC), a nationally-recognized non-profit professional theater group founded in 1976. CTC's School & Family Series features stage adaptations of fairy tales, children's literarure and historical stories, running September through May at Sunnyvale Theatre. CTC also produces a Summer Repertory season for an adult audience, playing June and July at Sunnyvale Theatre.
CTS is an ensemble theater company, and employs a company of about two dozen versatile actors and theater professionals who perform and staff both local and touring productions.

CTC's School and Family Series performs most weekdays during the school year at 9:30 and 11 a.m. for school groups and 11 a.m. on Saturdays and selected Saturday evenings for families at 7:00 p.m. Individuals may purchase tickets to weekday shows on a space available basis.
