Attempted robbery–Aug. 10, 11:27 p.m. Henderson Avenue. A woman was walking in the parking lot of an apartment complex when an unknown man grabbed a gold chain she was wearing around her neck. The chain broke, but the man did not get away with the necklace. The man fled on foot and was not arrested. He was described as a black male in his 20s, between 6-foot and 6-foot-3, and skinny.

Felony vandalism–Aug. 8, 11:33 p.m. Central Avenue. Officers responded to a report of a person smashing the windows of Saint Martin Parish Catholic Church. The person was apprehended in the area and was booked into county jail for felony vandalism.

Auto theft–Aug. 7, 4:15 p.m. Kingfisher Way. A 2005 Dodge company car was stolen from the 1300 block of Kingfisher Way.

Injury to child–Aug. 7, 11:12 a.m. Lime Drive. While at De Anza Park with a grandparent, a 3-year-old was playing on her stroller when it tipped over and the child landed on a knife that was in the stroller. The knife cut the child’s carotid artery. Parks workers and DPS personnel provided medical aid to the child who was rushed to a local hospital and into surgery. The child is in stable condition. The incident is under investigation.

Petty theft–Aug. 7, 8:13 a.m. Gainsborough Drive. An unknown person entered an unlocked 2006 Honda Odyssey and stole the vehicle manual, a portable video player and $150 in quarters.

Auto burglary–Aug. 6, 8 p.m. Lawrence Expressway. An unknown person shattered the passenger’s side window of a 2014 Hyundai Elantra and stole a black computer bag, vitamins, a bottle of Dayquil, a USB drive and miscellaneous pens, markers, pencils and paperwork.

Auto burglary–Aug. 6, 7:40 p.m. E. Caribbean Drive. An unknown person shattered the rear passenger’s side window of a Honda and stole a black backpack containing a MacBook Pro and an iPhone.

Assault with a deadly weapon–Aug. 6, 2:20 p.m. W. Evelyn Avenue. During a fight over a parking stall at the Caltrain parking lot, a person pulled out a knife and threatened another person. The person was found a short time later and was arrested and booked into county jail.

Auto burglary–Aug. 6, 1:57 p.m. Sunnyvale-Saratoga Road. An Apple MacBook Pro, iPad and iPhone were stolen from a 2001 Acura MDX.

Mutual aid–Aug. 5, 10:02 p.m. Middlefield Road. Mountain View PD requested the assistance of a DPS K9 unit in locating a wanted person who had fled from officers. The K9 found the person hiding and took the suspect into custody.

Auto burglary–Aug. 5, 8:25 p.m. Kifer Road. The window of a 2013 Chrysler Town and Country was broken, and a backpack and suitcase were stolen.

Auto burglary–Aug. 5, 8:03 p.m. Lawrence Station Road. The rear driver’s side window of a 2014 Ford Focus was shattered and a Lenovo laptop and external hard drive were stolen.
