Felony assault and carrying a firearm–Sept. 7, 1:41 a.m. Wildwood Avenue. Officers responded to a fight at Bogart’s Lounge and Tech Pub. Upon arrival, officers found there were two people who were assaulted and rendered unconscious. The attacker also reportedly was armed with a handgun while in the bar. He fled the scene, jumping fences in the neighborhood. Medical aid was provided to the injured individuals at the scene. A DPS K-9 found the attacker hiding in the neighborhood, who was arrested. The gun was recovered from the attacker’s vehicle. The suspect was booked into county jail.

Armed robbery–Sept. 6, 9:30 a.m. Persian Drive. An unknown person pulled out a handgun and forcibly removed a gold necklace from a person’s neck. The robber got into an awaiting vehicle and fled the scene.

Armed robbery–Sept. 6, 8:55 a.m. Elm Court. A person was walking in the complex when an unknown person pulled out a handgun and demanded a gold necklace. The robber removed the necklace and fled on foot.

Fatal auto accident–Sept. 5, 8:47 a.m. Mary Avenue. DPS units responded to a major injury collision at Mary Avenue and Central Expressway. The collision involved a vehicle and a moped. The rider of the moped suffered critical injuries and CPR was administered at the scene. The man was declared deceased at the hospital. The collision is being investigated by the Major Accident Investigation Team.

Armed robbery–Sept. 5, 3:25 a.m. Sunnyvale Saratoga Road. An unknown person entered a 7-Eleven store and brandished a handgun. The person demanded cash and cigarettes, and fled the area on foot.

Strong-arm robbery–Sept. 4, 3:03 p.m. Old San Francisco Road. While walking in the area, an unknown person approached a woman and forcibly removed a gold chain from her neck. The suspect fled on foot.

Residential burglary–Sept. 4, 1 p.m. Burntwood Avenue. A juvenile entered a residence by opening an unlocked bedroom window. Once inside the individual stole electronics and a handgun. An investigation identified the juvenile, who was contacted and arrested. The juvenile was found to also be responsible for a burglary that occurred in the 900 block of Fairwood Avenue, and was booked into juvenile hall.

Recovered vehicle–Sept. 2, 7:26 p.m. Lakewood Drive. A stolen 1997 Silver Nissan was recovered.

Strong-arm robbery–Sept. 2, 2:28 p.m. Borregas Avenue. A woman was walking on the sidewalk when an unknown person approached her and forcibly removed a gold chain from her neck. The suspect fled on foot and was not apprehended.

Auto burglary–Sept. 2, 6:14 a.m. San Aleso Avenue. An unknown person broke into a 2014 Dodge R15 and stole the car stereo and a battery from a locked tool box.

Residential burglary–Aug. 26, 10:35 a.m. Morse Avenue. An unknown person stole miscellaneous items from a person’s home while the resident was on vacation. Maintenance workers performed work inside the home while he was gone and his girlfriend and housekeeper had access to the home. There were no signs of forced entry. A watch, spare car key, Ray-Ban sunglasses, bottle of sauce, metal coffee filter and juice strainer were stolen.

Auto burglary–Aug. 25, 11:07 a.m. Reamwood Avenue. An unknown person broke the driver’s side window of a 1993 Mazda Miata and removed a racing seat and the convertible hard top.

Aggravated assault–Aug. 24, 4:18 p.m. Tasman Drive. Officers arrived on a report of a hit-and-run collision. A bicyclist had been riding westbound Tasman Drive along the curbline, because there is no bicycle lane and passed vehicles on the right. Traffic was moving around 5-10 mph due to the 49ers game having let out. The bicyclist said a driver intentionally swerved toward the north curb as he was passing on the right. The cyclist stopped his bike to avoid hitting the front passenger quarter panel and was struck in the left shoulder by the side mirror. He was able to catch his balance and hit his ankle on the curb, but stated he was uninjured and had no complaints of pain. The cyclist confronted the driver in traffic and argued with the driver and passenger, who both said there had been no impact. They drove off. The car was found at the driver’s residence later with no obvious damage. The driver later voluntarily provided a statement to DPS.
