Found property–April 9, 4:26 p.m. First Avenue. A machete was found near the 1300 block of First Avenue.

Auto burglary–April 9, 8:07 a.m. W. Weddell Drive. An unknown person broke into a 2005 Volkswagen Jetta and stole a radio faceplate.

Auto burglary–April 8, 10:10 p.m. Lawrence Expressway. An unknown person broke into a 2008 Hyundai Elantra and stole an Indian passport, leather briefcase, Dell laptop, Movado men’s dial watch, $1,800 in U.S. currency, $65 in Indian currency and a laptop charging cord.

Auto burglary–April 8, 7:35 p.m. N. Mathilda Avenue. An unknown person broke into a 2011 Cadillac CTS and stole a black Yahoo backpack containing an Apple MacBook Pro, a Verizon MiFi, ethernet port, RSA secure token and a MacBook Pro power cable.

Auto burglary–April 8, 7:35 p.m. N. Mathilda Avenue. An unknown person broke into a 2014 Nissan Altima and stole a black Yahoo backpack containing an Apple MacBook Pro, Ray-Ban sunglasses, Monster headphones and a MacBook Pro power cable.

Grand theft–April 8, 6:58 p.m. W. El Camino Real. A woman’s wallet was stolen and her credit cards were used to buy $500 worth of gift cards at Target in Sunnyvale. Video of the theft and fraudulent use of the credit cards was obtained by police.

Grand theft–April 7, 9:43 p.m. W. El Camino Real. An unknown person stole a 2014 Specialized Secteur road bike worth about $1,500.

Residential burglary–April 7, 4:24 p.m. Vienna Drive. An unknown person entered an apartment by removing a screen from an unlocked side kitchen sliding window and ransacked each room.

Vandalism–April 7, 10:48 a.m. N. Sunnyvale Avenue. An unknown person slashed the passenger’s side tire of a vehicle. There were also four other vehicles with slashed tires in the area.

Recovered stolen vehicle–April 6, 6:11 p.m. 100 block of Martha Street. A 1997 Honda Civic was recovered.

Graffiti–April 6, 5:27 p.m. Morse Avenue. An unknown person used black spray paint to write gang-related slurs and slogans on the west side wall of the Columbia School gym.

Petty theft–April 6, 12:45 p.m. E. Washington Avenue. The front license plate was stolen from a 2006 BMW 330.

Auto burglary–April 5, 10:50 a.m. Sunnyvale Saratoga Road. The passenger’s side window of a locked 2012 Acura RDX was shattered and a handbag containing a debit card, Blue Cross insurance card and California driver’s license was stolen.
